Author Guidelines

AICA Journal: Artificial Intelligence, Computing, and Application welcomes high-quality manuscripts presenting original and relevant contributions in artificial intelligence, computing, applied computer science, and related areas.

Authors are expected to carefully follow these guidelines before submitting a manuscript. Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal's requirements may be returned for revision before entering the peer-review process.

1. Article Types

AICA Journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

Original Research Article

An Original Research Article presents original research findings that contribute to the advancement or practical application of computer science.

Research articles should clearly describe the research problem, methodology, results, analysis, and contribution of the study.

Review Article

A Review Article provides a systematic, critical, and comprehensive synthesis of existing research on a relevant topic within the scope of AICA Journal.

Review articles should identify important developments, research trends, limitations, research gaps, and potential directions for future research.

Authors of review articles should clearly describe the method used to identify, select, and analyze the literature included in the review.

2. Language

All manuscripts must be written in English.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript uses clear, grammatically correct, and academically appropriate English.

Manuscripts should be written in a concise and professional academic style. Authors are encouraged to carefully proofread their manuscripts before submission.

3. Manuscript Length

Manuscripts should normally be between 6 and 12 pages using the official AICA Journal manuscript template.

Authors should present their research concisely while providing sufficient information to allow readers and reviewers to understand and evaluate the work.

4. Manuscript Template

All manuscripts must be prepared using the official AICA Journal Word Template.

Authors should not substantially modify the formatting, margins, font sizes, heading styles, or other layout specifications provided in the template.

5. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should generally be organized using the following structure:

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the main topic of the research.

Avoid unnecessary abbreviations, overly broad terminology, and excessively long titles.

Abstract

The abstract should contain approximately 200–250 words.

It should provide a concise summary of:

• the background or research problem;
• the objective of the study;
• the method or approach;
• the main results; and
• the principal conclusion or contribution.

The abstract should be understandable without requiring readers to consult the full manuscript.

References should generally not be included in the abstract.

Keywords

Authors should provide 3–6 keywords that accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript.

Keywords should facilitate indexing, searching, and discovery of the article.

Introduction

The Introduction should clearly describe:

• the background and context of the research;
• the research problem;
• relevant previous studies;
• limitations or research gaps in existing work;
• the motivation for conducting the study;
• the objective of the research; and
• the contribution of the manuscript.

The contribution of the study should be clearly distinguished from existing research.

Method

The Method section should describe the research design, materials, datasets, algorithms, models, experimental procedures, system architecture, evaluation methods, or other procedures used in the study.

The information provided should be sufficiently detailed to allow readers to understand how the research was conducted and, where appropriate, reproduce the study.

For computational research, authors should provide relevant information regarding datasets, preprocessing procedures, model configurations, algorithms, experimental settings, evaluation metrics, and computational tools when applicable.

For Review Articles, this section should describe the literature identification, selection, screening, and analysis procedures used in conducting the review.

Results and Discussion

The Results and Discussion section should present the findings of the research clearly and systematically.

Results may be supported by tables, figures, diagrams, statistical analyses, performance measurements, or other appropriate forms of evidence.

Authors should not merely report results. The findings should be interpreted and discussed in relation to:

• the research objectives;
• previous studies;
• existing theories or methods;
• practical implications;
• limitations; and
• the contribution of the research.

Authors should avoid unnecessarily repeating the same information in the text, tables, and figures.

For Review Articles, this section should provide a structured synthesis and critical discussion of the literature.

Conclusion

The Conclusion should clearly summarize the main findings and contributions of the study.

The conclusion should directly address the research objectives and should not simply repeat the abstract.

Where appropriate, authors may also discuss limitations and opportunities for future research.

Acknowledgment

Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, organizations, laboratories, or other parties that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship.

If there are no acknowledgments, authors may state:

Acknowledgment: None.

Funding

Authors must disclose any financial support received for conducting the research or preparing the manuscript.

When funding was received, authors should provide the name of the funding organization and, where applicable, the grant number.

If the research received no external funding, authors may state:

Funding: This research received no external funding.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, professional, institutional, personal, or other relationships that could potentially influence the research or its interpretation.

If no conflict of interest exists, authors may state:

Conflict of Interest: The authors declare no conflict of interest.

References

All references must follow the APA 7th Edition citation and reference style.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

• every reference cited in the text appears in the reference list;
• every entry in the reference list is cited in the manuscript;
• bibliographic information is accurate and complete;
• references are obtained from reliable and appropriate scholarly sources; and
• Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) are included when available.

Authors are encouraged to prioritize relevant and recent scientific literature, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings.

6. Citation and Reference Style

AICA Journal uses the American Psychological Association (APA), 7th Edition reference style.

In-text citations may use either parenthetical or narrative formats.

Examples:

Parenthetical citation

.... (Smith & Johnson, 2025).

Narrative citation

Smith and Johnson (2025) demonstrated that ...

Authors should follow APA 7th Edition rules for multiple authors, organizations, online sources, books, conference proceedings, journal articles, and other reference types.

Reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote may be used to help maintain citation consistency.

Authors remain responsible for verifying the accuracy of all references generated by reference management software or AI-assisted technologies.

7. Author Information

Because AICA Journal applies a double-blind peer-review process, any information related to the authors, such as name, email, affiliation, acknowledgment etc., will be temporarily removed before the review process.

8. Figures

Figures should be clear, readable, and of sufficiently high resolution for electronic publication.

Authors must ensure that:

• every figure is cited in the manuscript;
• figures are numbered consecutively;
• each figure has an informative caption;
• text and labels within figures are readable;
• figures are positioned appropriately within the manuscript; and
• authors have permission to use any copyrighted material reproduced or adapted from another source.

Figures should be inserted directly into the manuscript at the appropriate location.

Separate figure files are not required during the initial submission.

Authors should avoid low-resolution, distorted, blurred, or unnecessarily decorative images.

9. Tables

Tables should present information clearly and efficiently.

Authors must ensure that:

• every table is cited in the manuscript;
• tables are numbered consecutively;
• each table has a descriptive caption;
• abbreviations used in tables are explained when necessary; and
• the information presented in tables is not unnecessarily duplicated in the main text.

Tables should be editable rather than embedded as images whenever possible.

10. Equations, Algorithms, and Source Code

Mathematical equations should be written clearly and consistently using appropriate equation-editing tools.

Important equations should be numbered when they are referenced elsewhere in the manuscript.

Algorithms, pseudocode, and source-code fragments should be formatted consistently and must be readable within the journal template.

When source code is essential to understanding or reproducing the research, authors are encouraged to provide sufficient implementation details in the manuscript or make the code available through an appropriate repository where possible.

Any use of AI-assisted technologies for substantial code generation should comply with the journal's Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy.

11. Originality

Manuscripts submitted to AICA Journal must represent original work.

A manuscript must not:

• have been previously published in substantially the same form;
• be simultaneously submitted to another journal;
• contain plagiarized material;
• contain fabricated or falsified data; or
• improperly reproduce copyrighted material.

The journal does not apply a fixed numerical similarity threshold as the sole criterion for determining plagiarism.

Similarity reports, when used, are evaluated contextually by the editorial team. Proper quotations, references, methodological terminology, and legitimate textual overlap are considered differently from unattributed copying or inappropriate duplication.

Suspected plagiarism or other publication misconduct will be handled according to the journal's Publication Ethics policy.

12. Submission Procedure

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the AICA Journal Online Journal System (OJS).

Authors should create an account or log in to the journal submission system and follow the submission steps provided by OJS.

Authors should ensure that the information entered into OJS is accurate and consistent with the submitted manuscript.
